“Dream Job” was created in the autumn of 2003 as an artist’s book and has since also been exhibited both as individual wall pieces and as an interactive web piece. The project was derived from my search for employment during the summer of 2003. While looking through the Chicago want-ads, I began to fantasize about the experience of finding the perfect want ad in the paper. The circled images present the idealized versions of my various dream jobs and the portraits that accompany them represent the kind of person that I imagined replying to them. Select Images from “Dream Job” have been acquired by The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Lasalle Bank Collection, The Museum Of Contemporary Photography and The Milwaukee Art Museum.
