Jonathan Gitelson (1975) received his MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2004 and is a Professor of Art and Design at Keene State College in NH. He works in a variety of mediums that include artist books, videos, installations, public art, and sound-based projects that explore the wonder and strangeness found in the seeming ordinariness of everyday life.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Recipient of the 2025 Vermont Prize, an award given to one Vermont artist each year.

  • Named the 2025/26 Research Fellow at the Cohen Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Keene State College

  • Featured in the current exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Photography: MoCP at Fifty: Collecting Through the Decades

  • Recipient of a public art commission from the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (May 2026)
